InPixio Photo Studio is a photo editor that lets you easily enhance the photos you share on social media. This free multimedia app offers a wide selection of effects that you can quickly add to your pictures. Not only that, but the app also lets you remove unwanted objects, backgrounds, and even people with its suite of tools. This photography software is specifically designed as a user-friendly program, complete with easy-to-understand instructions. 

Getting started with InPixio

InPixio is the main program from the InPixio group. While loading the app, you won’t get right into the program, but in a selection menu where you will see all the available programs for use. Also included in the menu are those programs that you can purchase. The running of the program is very similar to how it is done in all Adobe programs. Immediately after starting, the app offers you to choose one of its provided test photos for editing.

With this, you can see how the program works. Of course, you can also upload your own pictures and start your projects right away. InPixio supports JPEG, PNG, BMP, and some other similar formats. For a free image editing program, InPixio Photo Studio offers a wide selection of tools. However, while you will have a lot to choose from, not all of them can yield a professional-looking photo. Some of the tools available are not that good when applied to a photo. Moreover, some of them are very confusing to use—even for an experienced editor. 

A mix of good and bad tools

Among the tools that you may find not good for your pictures are the presets. There are more than 100 presets available in the app, but there are only at least two or three decent ones in the collection. Many of them have very strange effects that make the photo either oversaturated or too dim. To make it worse, you cannot control the way the presets work. Any manipulations with presets are rather inconvenient since you can only preview four of them at a time. 

Another rather inconvenient tool is the correction tool, which allows you to make slight improvements to your picture. However, the sharpness in this tool is completely useless. Even after having set the value to the maximum rate, you won’t see any changes made to your pictures. There are also some confusing effects, as well as other oversaturated textures that you simply cannot apply to your pictures. 

However, as noted, there are still many tools in InPixio that you will find very helpful. For one, the app has an auto-erase function, which allows you to remove any object—or even a person—from your photo without losing optimized quality. The app’s erase slider automatically detects color contrasts, helping you during the work. Moreover,  you only need to select the photo you want to remove and use the slider. 

The app also comes with an auto color correction tool, which improves the quality and color of your photos in seconds. This tool really works top-notch as it analyzes your photo and improves the color by focusing on the main object. It only needs a single click to do so. InPixio also allows users to make the gradient in their photos. The way you control the process is very much like Lightroom, which makes it quite convenient and easy to understand. Additionally, the app boasts other helpful functions, such as an advanced cropping tool and advanced HDR effects. 

Not a suitable alternative

InPixio Photo Studio is a photo editing software for beginners. The app has a basic interface, which is enough for standard color correction and other simple image enhancing. However, the app has rather limited functions—some of the available tools are also not yet good to use. Moreover, the free version only allows you to export your edited pictures with watermarks. If you want to do advanced image manipulation, you are better off with more professional programs.
